Baltersan Heritage Ltd was created as a Company Limited by Guarantee to provide a long-term home for heritage and community-focused activity connected with Baltersan Castle and its surrounding landscape.
Why a dedicated organisation?
The castle needs continuity that can outlast any one person. A CLG structure can provide a clearer framework for conservation work, educational and artistic initiatives, public-benefit projects and collaboration with institutions.
Community benefit at the centre
The intended direction includes safeguarding the castle, ecological restoration of the wider landscape and historic orchards, education in music and the arts, practical skills and opportunities for volunteering and participation.
Working with partners
A dedicated heritage organisation also gives public bodies, trusts, educational partners and cultural organisations a more familiar structure through which to discuss long-term projects.
